My mother used to teach us lessons with what I call "grandma phrases" like. "If you run with the dogs you'll catch their fleas" or "You can only play the hand you're dealt" . Well recently I was able to witness a lesson I was glad to watch be learned and all her old sayings came flooding to my mind... and mouth. So I put them down on paper because I avoid confrontation like the plague and would never tell someone "That's what you get !" unless I could sing it in a song lol
Lyrics
It don’t bother me
to say I told you so
You planted thorns and weeds
And now you gotta watch them grow.
Up and down your street
All your dirty deeds.
It’s called reaping what you sow
It’s Like
sleeping in the bed you made
Paying up the piper babe
Digging your own six foot grave.
It must be hard to come to grips.
With a spoonful of medicine.
But That’s what you get
Running out of rope.
All tied up in knots.
That’s a real steep slope.
And you went and claimed your spot
Barking up my tree.
As I live in breathe
It’s not your day and you ain’t my dog
You’re just sleeping in the bed you made
Paying up the piper babe
Digging your own six foot grave.
It must be hard to come to grips.
With a spoonful of medicine.
But That’s what you get
There’s ten thousand ways to say what I want,
but just in case you forgot
It's called sleeping in the bed you made
Paying up the piper babe
Digging your own six foot grave.
It must be hard to come to grips.
With a spoonful of medicine.
But that’s what you get
